The baskets are made in cohorts of ten, with each Kiondo slightly unique—representing the nine daughters who founded the Gĩkũyũ clan, plus the mysterious tenth daughter, who was rarely claimed.

Each basket is finished with handmade brass detailing, honouring a tradition of metalwork passed down from the original brass pioneers of Nairobi.
